Hi Father Dan,
These holes in the universe cannot indicate the existence of more universes. The prefix “uni” means ONE. So, the most that can be said is that scientific definition of the universe will be modified, perhaps considerably.
However, by definition, there can only be one universe. Perhaps we would call these places new realms, or new worlds.
Thank you,
Sairaj

Although you intended to comment on this post . .
. . It’s actually Middle English, from Latin universum, from neuter of universus entire, whole, from uni- + versus turned toward, from past participle of vertere to turn
The term has obviously evolved since it was coined. No-one ever expected or could image there were multiverses – now that science has progressed we just go with “multiple universes” or the multiverse, our universe being one of them.

I am sorry for commenting on the wrong post.
OK, but this messes up the metaphysical principle of materialism–not to be confused with economic, psychological materialism. If the universe is not the whole, then a spiritual universe, or spiritual planes of existence, will once again seem credible. (Just look at how Ceepak Dopra and his guru ga-ga kind have profited from quantum theory.)
