Dell is announcing a recall of around 990,000 laptop power adapters. According to a to the US Consumer Product and Safety Commission, Dell has received seven reports of incidents caused by the adapters overheating, none of which have resulted in injuries. Laptop adapters covered by the recall include those from the Inspiron, Latitude, and Precision notebook lines. A complete list of the models affect can be found in USCPSC’s press release. However, if your adapter has the words “DELL” and either “P/N 9364U,” “P/N 7832D,” or “P/N 4983D” on the back, you should contact Dell at 800-418-8590 or via the delladapterprogram.com website to arrange for a free replacement.
